Sex for grade trend was triggered by yesterday's release by BBC African Eye of a video allegedly showing Academic prostitution undercover female reporters who wore secret camera.
A reporter, Kiki Mordi, who visited Dr. Boniface Igbeneghu, a lecturer of the department of European English and integrated studies, faculty of Arts, University Of Lagos (UNILAG) and a pastor in Foursquare Gospel church, pretended to be a 17-year old girl seeking for admission.

A lecturer who pleaded anonymity, told the Guardian that many male lecturers had become nervous, fearing that their sex escapades would be exposed on media following the advent of social media.
Last Thursday, a Ghanaian investigative reporter made it clear to his participants during a workshop in journalism on Monday, October 7, saying;
"The BBC African Eye would show another film on Nigeria and the lecturers might not be happy about it because the film exposed many lecturers sex escapades featuring some Nigerian universities".
The film also exposed a particular hide out in UNILAG referred to as "COLD ROOM" where those lecturers take students to for fun.
Barely hours after the video went public, thousands of people expressed their views on social media saying this is just a tip of the iceberg
As sex for grade has become a norm in most universities in Nigeria with some female student relating their experience with promiscuous lecturers.
