TUC,  NLC SUSPEND STRIKE,  BUHARI TO ANNOUNCE AGREED FIGURE

The proposed indefinite strike by Nigerian Labour Congress(NLC), TRADE UNION CONGRESS (TUC), and United Labour Congress(ULC) which was suppose to commence on the 6th of November 2018, has been suspended. 

The industrial action was scheduled to commence 12am on Tuesday. 

After a closed door meeting of the Tripartite Committee in Abuja on Monday Night concerning the new minimum wage the suspension was announced. 

NLC president,  Ayuba Wabba, said the decision was reached after agreements and documents were signed.  

Wabba, however didn't disclosed the exact figure agreed by the committee. 

He noted that the amount would only be made public after the report is presented to president Muhammadu Buhari later in the day at 4:15pm. 

According to a report by Daily punch,  the federal government eventually agreed to the Labours demand of N30,000 minimum wage after union made it clear that anything below that would lead to national shutdown. 

Chairman of the Tripartite committee,  Ama Pepple, expressed her excitement that their assignment had been concluded. 

Minister of labour, Chris Ngige, also said a mutual agreement on the new minimum wage would be made public after a meeting with the president. 

Boss Mustapha, secretary to the government hailed the resolution of the matter by all the parties involved. The interest of the masses prevailed at the meeting he said.
