NIGERIAN SINGER TIWA SAVAGE WINS 2018 BEST AFRICAN ACT AT THE MTV EUROPEAN MUSIC AWARDS.

Tiwa was at the venue of the event in Bilbao, Spain on Sunday, clinched the award after beating fellow Nigerian, Davido and other African acts. 

The annual MTV EMA awards held last night at expansive Bilbao Exhibition centre, Bilbao. Amidst glitz and glamour awarding music artist around the globe in different categories. 

The African act was infused into the MTV EMA to enhance musical alliance across borders, collaborate with talented African artist and promote cultural values.

Tiwa was nominated alongside Davido, South African destruction boyz and shekinah, Kenya's Nyashinski and Fally Ipupa from Congo. 

As at June this year tiwa lost best International Act category of the BET awards to Davido. 

Speaking with the Nation on red carpet tiwa said she she felt humbled to be nominated in same category with Davido and she gave a shout out to fellow nominees. 

Tiwa feeling so excited by her first time experience in Bilbao, she said she love the Spanish food describing the award organisation as "incredible". 

A 26 year old Nigerian lady identified as Hauwa Ojeifo won the first edition of MTV EMA generation change award  category. 

This award is aimed at elevating and empowering the fearless, original young people who are changing the world. 

Unfortunately she wasn't able to get to the venue as she was not able to secure a Schengen visa from the Spanish embassy in Nigeria. 

Ojeifo was nominated alongside a 21 year old Afghanistan, Sonita Alizadeh, 17 year old Lebanese,  Mohamad Aljounde, 20 year old Briton, Ellen Jones and an 18 year Old Xiuhtezcatl "X" Martinez. 

MTV EMA  was broadcast life in 81 countries around the world.
