DSS ALLEGEDLY PRESSURISES ADAMS OSHIOMHOLE TO RESIGN AFTER ARREST

The national chairman of the All Progressive Congress, Adams Oshiomhole, has been allegedly pressurised to resign by the Department of state security Services, DSS. 

According to the cable Oshiomhole was detained on Sunday by DSS and after his arrest he has been forced to resign.

Oshiomhole was grilled and detained briefly by the DSS after some APC governors reported that he received bribe during the party's primary election across the country. 

Oshiomhole who rejected the allegations, said he would only do so if he loses the confidence of the president. 

The APC chairman who further told the DSS that the president was aware of every action he took during the party's primary,  saying he wouldnt have done anything without consulting the president.

"Adams Oshiomhole was arrested by the DSS without being shown any petition. It was alleged that some governors reported his case after a source discovered that he took bribe during the primaries. 

The DSS who have given their verdict to the APC chairman telling him to resign, oshiomhole said he is going to resign if he loses the confidence of the president, saying the president would not deny that he is not aware of everything the party did. 

Another source said the president expressed shock at the governors move, saying he was not aware of the development. 

"On Monday night Oshiomhole met with the president and briefed him on what happened, the president was shocked. The president said he didn't know anything about it and promised to look into it" the source said.
