COMMISIONER OF POLICE, EDGAL IMOHIMI ORDERS CLOSURE OF BEER PARLOURS AROUND POLICE COMMUNITY IN LAGOS STATE

The Lagos State commissioner of police, Edgal Imohimi has ordered the closure of beer parlours around police communities in Lagos State. This order came after a police officer in the command, Kadima Useni with appointment number 176219, was seen in a viral video drunk while on duty around Akowonjo Dopemu area of Lagos. 

The CP believes that shutting down of beer parlours will stop the recurrence of such and the dismissal of the officer will serve as a deterrent to others. 

According to the state police command spokesperson, CPS Chike Oti, The Lagos police Boss directed the officer in charge of the command provost section to embark on a tour of all police formations and barracks within the state with a view of identifying and shutting down beer parlours within the police community to avoid a recurrence of such an embarrassing situation that diminish the status of the Nigerian Police Force. 

The commissioner also warned against offering the police men alcoholic drinks while on duty by members of the public. He added that Amy police man found drunk while on duty will be dealt with.
