Jamb Releases 2019 Results, 34,120 withheld For Exam Malpractice


About 1,792,719 candidates sat for the exams, while 34,120 candidates had their result withheld for examination malpractice. The registrar of the board also said 15,145 results were withheld for further clarification. Meanwhile, JAMB on Sunday, May 5, said it had secured conviction of five persons who were involved in examination fraud and malpractice during the 2019 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).

The five persons were among the 100 suspects arrested by security operatives nationwide during the UTME last month, The Nation reports. They are expected to serve between three months and two years jail term. 

The registrar of the board, professor Ishaq Oloyede, said 1,886,508 candidates registered including those who registered at foreign centres. 

Out of this numbers, which excludes the direct entry candidates, 59,667 were absent. A total of 1.826, 893 sat for the UTME. and 1,792,719 candidate's result were released. 

Some 34,120 results are being withheld including the results of 15,145 candidates being further clarified as identical twins and siblings " professor Oloyede added.
