ASUU members vote for continuation of the ongoing strike
A heart-breaking news for university student as about 200 members of the academic staff union of university voted for the continuation of the ongoing nationwide strike. 

At a referendum held at the Oyo state chapter of the union, in Ibadan, out of 250 members present 200 members voted for the continuation of the ongoing strike while only 50 voted to end the strike.



Speaking after the referendum, Dr. Deji Omole, chairman of the university of Ibadan chapter, said the referendum was held to know if the union should end the strike or not. 

The members voted the continuation of the strike because government is yet to meet all of its demands. 

Asuu and federal government are yet to come to an agreement on funds for the revitalization of universities.

Asuu demanded 50 billion but federal government only gave 25 billion saying they do not have 50 billion. 

Source from zonal congress claimed that majority of the members voted for continuation of the strike because they doubt the federal government sincerity in fulfilling it new promises due to past occurrence. 

Speaking after the last meeting Dr Chris Ngige, Minister of Labour, said "we have met it half way, we offered what we had, we do not have N50 billion"
